Denver Fashion Week - Spring 2025 - Day 2 Resort and Swimwear Reaction

I had the pleasure of attending Denver Fashion Week’s first ever Resort and Swimwear show a couple of weeks ago and the shows were SO FUN! My mom joined me for the VIP experience and front row seats and we had a lovely time. Here are some of the coolest looks and my hot takes on the event…

The first runway show was MONASHAY (IG: https://www.instagram.com/monashayswim?igsh=OGc1a3RjeDB3dGZw) and it was BADASS.

The styling was epic, including western and moto boots, bandanas used in various ways, and rock n roll worthy makeup and hair. The moment the first look walked the runway I understood the vibe immediately and was 100% sold. Many of the bathing suits were too skimpy for my tastes (I go hard at the pool so they’d fall off immediately as I started my antics) but the styling was so on point that I started considering buying them all (practicality be damned!) This showing was a real stand-out for me, even though all of the shows were great, I will never forget the impact of the first few looks in this show!

How badass is this? I mean, please!!

Like, damn. I want to be as cool as every one of these models. 10/10.

Next show was from Beach Haus (IG:https://www.instagram.com/beachhaus_swim?igsh=MXhjd2NhbWN3aHBucQ==)

This collection had great range, a number of really cool pieces that really appealed to me, personally, and overall felt very shop-able. I loved the appearance of coverups and non-swim specific items in this collection. Overall I would love to see more “resort-wear” at next year’s show, but Beach Haus was the showing that tackled this area this year and did very well.

While there was a lot of variety in this show in terms of shapes, colors, texture and even vibes, it still felt very connected and consistent mostly due to consistent and fun styling.

Yes, ma’am!

Third show was My Generation (IG https://www.instagram.com/_mygeneration?igsh=MXd0c21oOXIwNDY3)

This was also a very cool, cohesive show, and the styling and models really killed it. I wish I could have seen these pieces up close because they have really cool graphic prints on them that had great impact on the runway but were tricky to decipher in detail.

This collection felt so timely and cool to me - a fun combo of modern and retro combines to create a really unique perspective.

The fourth show was Brasileida (IG: https://www.instagram.com/brasileida?igsh=dGpzZDJtOW16ajhn)

Once again, the models absolutely killed it and had me wanting to buy items I would never even have a use for in my real life! Haha

The suit pictured above came in several colors and, for me, it was love at first sight. I am obsessed with that shell trim!

LOVED The print on the suit above as well! So classic, bright, and fun.

Last but not least we saw MurMade Swimwear (IG: https://www.instagram.com/murmadeswimwear?igsh=MXM2cHp3ZnVobXFoeQ==)

The styling on this collection were an absolute stand-out as well. The second the models started walking the runway transformed into this ethereal plane. Each model looked absolutely perfect- like living Barbie goddesses. It was very impactful and well done, IMO.

A job well done by all!

Overall I loved the shows and pieces featured and thought that everyone involved did a wonderful job. I will absolutely attend a swim/rest show again if DFW keeps it on the schedule for next time!

The vendors and sponsors were all super fun a cool - I chatted with several of them and had a great time. I had expected to see more vendors, though and was a bit let down by the small (though great) lineup. I’d love to see more shops and vendors at this event.

We held VIP tickets which granted us access not only to premium front row seats but a separate VIP lounge area. If you are considering these tickets next time, here is my honest take:

If you want front row seats, it’s worth paying up for the tickets. It’s nice to sit and you do get a better view of the garments, especially if you plan to snap pics, film, or plan to shop the collections.

The VIP lounge experience was rather disappointing to me, though. There was a really tasty Indian food sample available, which was awesome, and samples from a local toffee maker (also awesome) but the lounge area felt thrown together and in my opinion was not worth the higher ticket price.

So overall, as long as you realize that you are paying up for premium seats, and that is worth it to you, the VIP seats are worth considering. Don’t expect anything truly fancy beyond that proximity to the shows though. Of course this may change over time, but in 2025, this was my take.

Until next time, stay fashionable!
